Marie Curie Hospices help terminally ill patients. They provided 24 hr support and nursing for my Dad at Solihull Hospice during the last 3 weeks of his struggle against cancer. This was a great benefit for him and I feel I want to help their good work.
So I have set myself the challenge. On Sunday 9th November (12 months after his death) I will ride around
the CEGB power stations and sites my Dad worked at after he moved down to the
Midlands in ‘63: Castle Donnington, Willington, Drakelow, Hams Hall and CEGB HQ
Shirley. I have a fund raising target of £300, which will provide
24hrs of care for a terminally ill patient at the hospice.
This will be a 125 mile effort in November, with the shortening days and the usual bad weather, I'm expecting a bit of a "sufferfest"!
