We're like family and I've been raising money for the Royal Marines Charity for a few years now, we even raffled off a new Aston Martin (see pics attached) to raise even more much needed funds and raise global awareness for the need to help our friends and heroes - we had a bit of fun at the same time BUT this is a serious endeavour for a serious cause and by you helping me, you directly help the wounded, injured and sick. The RMC supports the families and veterans too and even facilitates immediate death grants within 48 hours of death to families of those serving.
So many Royal Marines have lost their lives and so many are very seriously wounded: currently 155 disabled Royal Marines including 30 amputees or those who have lost legs and arms (3 triple, 6 double, 21 single) are to be cared for.
The RMC supports the rehabilitation and reintegration of marines who have suffered life-changing injuries and helps their families.
One case study for example of what the RMC can do:
A marine was injured by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) - a bilateral above knee and unilateral through elbow (triple) amputee. he now has a high level of skill and physical fitness and has trained as a leadership consultant and property designer.
But he required new sockets and prosthetics which conventional institutions will not fund. Costs for treatment is £93,000 with a 5 year equipment guarantee. But this is not all, he is likely to be wheelchair bound one day and there will be more expenses and modifications for him and his home - the estimated through life cost of treatment is between £1.5 to £2.5m.
The Royal Marines and the Royal Marines Charity are caring and such good people that need support from everyday people like us, just like family.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for helping the Royal Marines Charity.
Please share your love and gratitude with me,
