Fire Walk for We Are Beams

Fire Walk for We Are Beams · 21 March 2020 ·
On the 4th January 2019, after 3 years of chasing appointments and assessments, we were given the diagnosis that Victoria has autism. Since then we have been on an emotional rollercoaster of dealing with her condition whilst trying to understand it in order that we can give Victoria the best start in life.
We Are Beams is a local charity that supports disabled children and their families in Kent and Medway, and their support, advice and help over the past 12 months has been invaluable to us. They have given us individual advice, ran the Cygnets course where we learned so much about autism and host the Fathers Club supporting fathers and grandfathers of children with autism.
For all this they ask for very little in return, despite requiring £1.5m per year so they can keep offering this support. Which is why, on Saturday 21st March, I will be taking part in a Fire Walk, walking between 15 and 20ft over hot coals at 550 degrees to raise funds for this wonderful charity!
