I have been visiting Cape Town on business for over 20 years and became aware of the "Cape Argus Cycle Tour", the largest timed cycle race in the world over a distance of 109 kilometres and with over 35,000 riders taking part. See; www.capetownmagazine.com/cape-argus-pick-n-pay-cycle-tour

I developed an ambition to take part, you could say it went on my  "bucket list"!

 I have decided that it is now or never so I have entered this years event and I hope, with your help, to raise funds for the Behcets Syndrome Society.My target time is 6-7 hours! (Lots of hills and possibly a little warm!)

Until recently I had not heard of Behcets disease, it is a rare, chronic lifelong disorder that involves inflamation of blood vessels throughout the body. Although considered incurable at present, it can be suppressed to reduce inflamation. The disease is difficult to diagnose and can jeopardise sight, the digestive tract and even life itself. Behcets is a relatively small charity so any contribution can really make  a big difference.
