Story
I am taking part in the Epilepsy Society's Challenge 100 to raise awareness for the 1 in 100 people (which is now me!) living with epilepsy everyday in the UK. I am planning to walk 100 miles over 31 days.
Any donation that you are able to make will help them to continue their incredible work and will spur me on throughout my challenge.
I was diagnosed with epilepsy in April 2025 after my second seizure. The first was in Jan 2025 whilst on holiday in Austria. This entailed a £3500 air ambulance ride that I have no recollection of. I just woke up in Innsbruck hospital the day after with no memory of what happened.
The next seizure was in April and was a double, this time at home. Again no memory of the seizure, I just woke up in Derriford the next day. However this time I bit my tongue rather badly, that needed stitching five times to repair it. One of the worst the MaxFax doctors had seen.
I still have no memory of what happens or what symptoms to watch out for, and I'm still unable to drive.
Below you can see how your donation could help.
£24 Could pay for one of our trained operators to support a caller with concerns relating to living with epilepsy.
£50 Could help to prepare examples for crucial genetic testing, bringing us closer to groundbreaking discoveries,
£100 could allow us to store and test whole genomes for 5 people. Paving the way for personalised treatments.
Thank you so much for your support!
