Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In 2005 Mum and Sarah, (Georgia's Grandma and aunt), died from ovarian cancer. They died within six weeks of each other in August and September of 2005.
To quote the founder of the charity, Joanna, "I couldn't save my mother or my sister but it made me determined to do something to prevent other people having to go through what my family has experienced. It’s one of the reasons why I founded Target Ovarian Cancer, a charity that is working hard to make sure women with ovarian cancer enjoy a longer and better life."
We both want to do something that, for us, is quite a challenge so we will be running in events in memory of both Mum and Sarah and to raise as much for the charity as we can.
Whilst we’ve now completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon and the London Marathon in 2021 fundraising doesn’t stop. We have events planned in 2022 that we had hoped to hold two years ago, before the pandemic started and the charity, like all such organisations, suffered a loss of funds due to the effects Covid has had on us all so it is still as important to support its work now as it has ever been.
I’m running in the London Landmarks Half again in April 2022 and we have other events going on that we’ll update on here soon.
We would be very grateful if you can help us towards our target fund raising and have promised we will, run, walk or crawl to make sure we complete the events.
