Baxters Loch Ness Marathon 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Hello World! Another month, another run, and from here on in we're upping the ante!  future marathons will be run in costume, Batman no less, and fund raising is the game. The challenge will be two fold, as you can imagine, covering marathon distances in costume does mean the runs will be harder, so therefore, I would appreciate more dosh from you!

My next run will be the Great scottish Half Marathon, followed by the Loch Ness Marathon (oct, 5th). After this in 2009, the costume comes out and London will be under the gaze of the caped crusader!

There is a serious side to this. Every DAY in the UK Six Teenagers are diagnosed with cancer. That's Six today, Six tomorrow, Six the next. These kids need special care, They're mostly too old for childrens wards, and too young for adult wards, and there's a desperate shortage of cash. Specialist units are required, and as some of these young people are in hospital for weeks or months, and giving these units a few extras to make life more comfortable can really make a difference.

At Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow, a unit is currently being refurbished, and TCT want to get a new unit built, and we need £350,000 THIS Year, to do it! So I'm asking for your help!

These young people are our kids, They didn't choose cancer, it chose them. Lets do something good today, lets make a difference, in anyway we can.

Please sponsor me now.

The gauntlet is thrown down. If you can think of an event, running related or otherwise, that can help me to make a difference to those who didn't get to choose, drop me a line. If you think it'll raise cash, tell me what it is. whether it's crossing the Gobi desert on a fish, or climbing the eiffel tower dressed as a gorilla, if you'll sponsor me, I'll try it (no promises at this stage, desert loving fish are in short supply)

Thanks for reading this, go on, help us out with this, I'd really appreciate it
