Yes, you read it right, I have rather foolishly signed up to do a significant cycle - the London Ride 100; as the name would suggest, it is 100 miles and it traces most of the Olympic Road route through Surrey and London on closed roads and I am doing this for a charity that is close to my heart.
As I was told this needed to be done in less than 9 hours in order to represent Cancer Research UK (yep, they're picky about who raises money for them :), I had to undertake a significant training programme in order to get in shape so I could make the allotted time so, after shedding a significant amount of weight and getting a lot of training miles under my belt I am ready to take on the challenge of the Ride 100.
The event takes place on Sunday the 4th August and I would really appreciate your support. Cancer is one of those awful things that touches most of us directly or indirectly throughout our lives and Cancer Research UK are constantly looking at new ways to fight the battle against cancer. Having close family affected by this disease has really brought this home to me and I am proud to be doing this cycle for Cancer Research.
Many thanks for your support!
