David Churchman is raising money for Seeing is Believing
Story
A great opportunity to support Standard Chartered and "Seeing is Believing". This year we will be cycling the first 3 stages of the Tour de France - 505km and 6296 metres - between 22 and 25 June. We are in fact taking 4 days, but after completing Stage 1 with over 200km through the Yorkshire Dales; we cover Stage 2 over 2 days - another 200km which includes the longest continual ascent in the UK; Stage 3 is a gentle 100km from Cambridge to London. Seeing is Believing is a great charity which helps people regain the gift of sight. Over 285 million people worldwide are either blind or visually impaired, 80% of which can be prevented. The opportunity to help people resolve preventable blindness and the suffering it causes for only a small amount of money is one that cannot be passed up. The average cataract operation for an adult costs only $30, and $16 will buy a child a pair of glasses, and so a little can go a long way. Every pound raised will go to those who are suffering with avoidable blindness and the impact will be massive. Every penny is match funded by Standard Chartered Bank.
