We exist to to help children with hydrocephalus

Story

I’m so honoured that Stanton House has chosen Harry's Hydrocephalus Awareness Trust (Harry's HAT) as our company charity this year.

Harry’s HAT are a small charity, set up by parents of a young boy, Harry, who are working hard to support children with hydrocephalus, a condition that is still little understood despite impacting 1 in 1,000 babies born in the UK.

My younger son Lucas was diagnosed with hydrocephalus when he was just 3 months old and as a consequence he has been through 25 separate neurosurgical operations since then.

Despite this, we count ourselves as lucky in that we have had so much wonderful support from the outstanding neurosurgery team at St George’s Hospital, but this is far from the case for everyone, something that Harry’s HAT are working hard to address.

You can read a lot more about it on a blog that I wrote for our company campaign - https://lnkd.in/drZc4uvT

About the charity

The aim of our charity improve the lives of children and their families affected by hydrocephalus (water on the brain). Every year 1 in every 770 babies are born with the condition and many more children acquire it.
