Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A team of five of us from the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance (2x Pilots, 1x Doctor and 1x Paramedic) will be running the Brighton Marathon 2019 as a complete HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) team. We will be running in our flight suits carrying 15kgs of kit each, in an effort to raise awareness of, and money for, the charity.

The term ‘Charlie Landing’ refers to a landing which is not considered close/in line of sight to the emergency we are attending, due to restrictions in where we maybe able to land the helicopter, for example a heavily built up inner-city area with no suitable open spaces. In this case the team will move by foot or in some cases get a lift from police, for example.  Hence ‘The Ultimate Charlie Landing’ is a 26.2 mile run! An eventuality which would never happen for real!!
