The Children's Bereavement Centre is a unique and special place where children aged between 3 and 18 and their families who are affected by terminal illness or death of someone close can access the support and guidance they need. Thank you for your support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have volunteered to help raise £200.00 for the Charity, Sue's Place.

This charity is based in Newark, Nottinghamshire and helps bereaved Children. The charity helps children who have lost a significant person in their lives and it assists them by coming to terms with their loss. It encourages conversation, it provides support, it provides reassurance, it offers guidance, it gives comfort and most of all they make new friends along the way.

Every year Sue's place co-ordinates an off site residential event for children who have experienced trauma through a bereavement. This year they have organised a Camp Trip for 20 young people aged between 10 to 16 years. This is being held at The Hagg Farm in Derbyshire.

Practical and creative activities to encourage teamwork, building confidence, and self esteem will be followed by creative activities which encourage children to share their stories, thoughts and feelings in a safe and non threatening environment.

Obviously this Camp Trip costs, and Sue's Place rely on kind donations and support to help fund this. And that's why I am trying to help...

The total cost of the Camp Trip is £2.5k, but I am trying to raise around £200.00, which will help with the Transport Costs from Newark to Derbyshire.

What I plan to do: I plan to Cycle from Nottingham (place of work) to Kilnhurst, South Yorkshire (home), which to a novice bike rider like me is quite a challenge! I think this is about 50 miles and this doesn't take in to consideration going off the designated route or getting lost!

I hope to do this throughout a working day but let's just see.... *-)

If you could help me by offering a donation no matter how big or small this would go along way!
