Story
Update: Sadly my mum passed away on 26.11.20. I was due to do the great north run in sept 2020 but due to the covid virus the race was rescheduled for sept 2021. I’ll still be doing the race for my mum and for this fantastic charity. Below is the original story when i set up the page and the reasons why I chose Leonard Cheshire. Thank you.
Many of you will know why I’m doing the great north run for Leonard Cheshire Disability but for those of you that don’t, please take a read of my story.
12 years ago my mum suffered a bleed on her brain which left her completely paralysed and unable to speak. Since then she has been a resident in Leonard Cheshire Care home on Mickley Lane. My mum also enjoyed working for Leonard Cheshire as a carer and an activities coordinator for 10 years previous to the bleed.
So it makes sense for me to fundraise for this amazing charity and give something back as it is very close to my heart.
Any donation towards my target will be gratefully received.
Thank you so much!
