I'm taking on Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road for Action Medical Research

Race the Sun Lake District Coniston Off-Road 2025 · 17 May 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
In May-25, I will be setting off at sunrise to bike, hike, and paddle around a very challenging course in Coniston; with the aim of completing before dusk.
I'll be working as part of an 8-man team to complete this challenge, and doing so on behalf of the amazing children's charity Action Medical Research.
The race consists of a long 23-mile bike ride up and over Hawkshead Hill, a relentless hike up and down the 800m tall 'Old Man of Coniston' fell, and then finishing with an arduous 2-mile canoe route on Lake Coniston.
Expecting to be on the move for at least 7-8 hours!!
Action Medical Research is a charity which funds vital research to help sick and disabled babies and children across the UK; with the aim of finding cures, treatments and medical breakthroughs for some of the toughest fights children face.
I've been a supporter of Action Medical Research and similar childrens charities, such as The Azaylia Foundation; for a number of years.
I gained some real insight and perspective of the unbelievable and heartbreaking difficulties that many children and families face right across the UK, particularly after reading the book called 'Strong' by Ashley Cain. Well worth a read!
We absolutely need the continued support of these charities.
If you could spare a few minutes and would like to help, please feel free to donate. All donations will go direct to this charity.
Thanks for reading and for any support you can give, it's very much appreciated :-)
