PPL has been partnered with South London Cares, a charity that works to bring young professionals together with older neighbours to hang out and do different activities together in South London. This is a charity that seeks to address the modern disconnect that older people feel and organises activities that encourages young people to create real connections with their neighbours and, most importantly, allows older people to connect with the young generation, many of whom feel lonely and isolated. Since the Covid-19 pandemic started, older people are the group who have suffered the most, by having to shield themselves from society. During this time, SLC has been active by going virtual to still deliver the fun activities that they do. The PPL employees are thus running, walking or cycling 10km each and virtually 'passing' the baton between each other in the hope of raising awareness of social isolation, especially in the times of Covid-19, and help support South London Cares do what they do best.
