Just leaving the office, and planning a short run tonight just to keep the old legs ticking over, but nothing too strenuous. No alcohol now till after the race - how depressing. Anyway, thanks to everyone who has sponsored me, i will let you all know how i get on after the race!!
Wish me luck!!

Just been out for an 8 mile run, took it steady, quite hilly, but plenty left in the tank when i got back, so i am confident of a strong finish on the day. Been out 3 times this week, planning a long run on Sunday, not long now till the big day.
Thanks to all of you who have sponsored me so far, please keep the donations coming!!
Thanks again.

Hello folks.
You'll be pleased to know that i've just been out for a run, not long to go now till the big day!!
Just did a cheeky little 4 miles this evening, but going to start cranking up the mileage from now on, and probably going out 3 or 4 times a week.
Important to keep re-hydrated, so half a bottle of red should do the trick!
Good night all!!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On Sunday 5th October, I will be in Newcastle for the Great North Run.
I am running for The Peace Hospice in Watford, and I am hoping to raise £500.
The Peace Hospice, based in Watford, is a wonderful place. It provides support and care for patients with a terminal illness, and support for their families and carers.
I had the privilege of being given a guided tour of the Hospice earlier this year. Much to my surprise, the Hospice was not the depressing place that I expected, but in fact was bright and cheerful, with a warm and friendly atmosphere, and full of positive, cheerful, dedicated staff who are clearly passionate about what they do.
As well as looking after a patient’s medical needs, the Hospice also provide other treatments, such as massage, physiotherapy, and relaxation techniques. They offer counseling to patients, and their families, as well as a bereavement service, including a special programme for children, to help them deal with their grief.
The Hospice provide a tremendously important public service, so I was astonished to discover that they rely on charitable donations for over 75% of their funding.
Please sponsor me, to help raise money to ensure that The Hospice can carry on caring for the terminally ill and their families.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Peace Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
