We give our patients outstanding care to help them make the best of every moment

Story

How hard can it be to do a half marathon? Half means easy right?

It was with the immortal words ‘come on guys you can walk 20k in 4hours, it’s easy’ that running Geeks Jo and Steve bullied colleagues into joining them on a half marathon. Not satisfied with harassing  colleagues Jo even went as far as signing up Mr Killip.

Here for a good time (more likely a long time) the serious business was very much at the heart of why we all signed up. It’s true that  post love-island we all had a huge gap in our social calendar but the real reason we all donned our Lycra is that we are passionate about the work done by an incredible charity.

Now, let’s be honest, we all know fundraising is often an excuse to pay for someone’s jolly and we plan on having as much fun as possible but there are some of us (Marta) who get taxi’s home (2km away) and others  (Nori) who drink more glasses of wine than they clock up road miles. We really have committed to this in the hope of raising a huge amount of money for a worthy cause. Hopefully, you’ll have fun laughing at us as we train too little and drink too much.

The Royal Trinity Hospice in Clapham provides compassionate care and support to people with progressive, life-limiting illnesses and those close to them.  The hospice does excellent work and we are trying to collect over £10,000 to contribute towards the salary of a community nurse.  Much of Royal Trinity's work is done through home visits, rather than at the hospice itself and it relies heavily on donations to continue offering its services.
