Following Alan's sad diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease in April this year we have decided to be proactive and walk from Bowness on Solway in the North West, 86 miles along Hadrian's Wall path back to Alan's birth place in Wallsend, over 5 days (4 nights). Alan is raising money on his page for Motor Neurone Disease Association and my donations will be going to our local hospice -St Mary's who provide vital support for families affected by terminal illness. £446 provides 1 night of care for an inpatient. £87.34 can provide day care for 1 person, for 1 day. £160 can provide a hospice at home visit. The hospice needs £2.8 million a year to run and only 22% is provided by the NHS. Without donations the Hospice would not be able to provide the amazing support it does to our local community.
