Ben Nevis Challenge · 12 October 2012 to 14 October 2012 ·

We are the largest charity dedicated to kidney research in the UK. Kidney disease ruins and destroys lives. Treatments are gruelling, relentless. There is no cure. We say this isn't good enough. We will transform kidney health. Kidney disease ends here.

Story

**Update** Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored us and we’re pleased to report we made it back in one piece - a bit sore, but having successfully conquered Ben Nevis! The climb was quite hard going (with lots of snow and a bit of rain!) but a great experience and in good company. Please do have a look at the photos we have uploaded from our adventure J

Another year, another challenge...

On 13 October 2012, we’re climbing Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK. Whilst a personal challenge, we’re also hoping to raise as much as possible for a fantastic charity very close to our hearts and in memory of our much loved and missed husband and Dad (David/Dickie), who passed away suddenly in April 2011.

Gemma says: “Dad was on dialysis for 3 years, before having a successful kidney transplant in 1999. My family have therefore always been very supportive of Kidney Research’s amazing work, providing vital research into kidney disease and raising awareness of kidney health. Dad would also be hugely excited we’re undertaking this challenge and very proud of Mum.”

Dawn’s thoughts: “It’s with mixed emotions that I look forward to climbing Ben Nevis. As well as a personal challenge, I’m sure it will be very emotional to share the climb with others with similar experiences. It will be a fitting tribute to my lovely husband, who had polycystic kidney disease, and to continue our support to help other kidney patients.”

So, we’d be really grateful if you could donate whatever you can to contribute to Kidney Research’s life saving work.

Thank you x
