Story
On Sunday 26 April 2009, I will be 'running' the 2009 Flora London Marathon for Arthritis Care. Running a marathon has always been an ambition, and I hope to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause.
Despite numerous rumours, you will not be able to follow my 'progress' on BBC Interactive, so please come and cheer me on. Base camp will be the 'Walrus and Carpenter' pub near Monument tube station.
For those that are coming to support me, please be aware that although I am hoping to finish on Sunday 26 April, I have taken the following 2 days off work as a precautionary measure. You may wish to do the same.
On a serious note, I am aiming to finish in 4 hours 30 mins (approx 10 minutes a mile). So far my training is going well with the Rocky IV soundtrack spurring me on!
Thank you so much for your support. Hopefully I won't be passed by too many rhinos or the guy in the diving suit!

Arthritis is the single biggest cause of physical disability in the UK. Around 9 million people have arthritis nationally. This includes thousands of young people and children, but arthritis touches the lives of many more.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Arthritis Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
