Story
On the 21st of September I will be cycling 100 kilometres from London to Brighton with a few friends as part of the Challenge Cancer Scheme to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
There are 2 reasons for me taking part in this event.
Firstly I am doing it in memory of my friend Anish Somasekaram's father, Ganan ,who sadly passed away from cancer earlier this year. Uncle Ganan was a very friendly and kind person who always treated me as if I were part of the family, so it makes me happy and proud to be doing this in his memory.
The second reason is because Anish, who is also doing the challenge, only learnt how to ride a bike in the beginning of September and can now just about ride without swaying between both sides of the road. I've been helping him train for this and feel like it's my responsibility to make sure "Liability-Somasekaram" gets there safely and without causing any major road collisions with other cyclists en route to Brighton.
Macmillan Cancer Support really is a good charity and they helped Uncle Ganan and his family immensely during their tough time. Any donation big or small will be greatly appreciated as it all adds up. Thanks
Dayan
