Kelham Island Raft Regatta · 19 September 2015

Roundabout is South Yorkshire’s youth homeless charity providing shelter, support and life skills to 16-25's who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Roundabout supports over 400 young people every day. We help break the cycle of homelessness and develop long term independent living skills.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the DBL Logistics JustGiving page.

DBL Logistics’ Earl Robinson, Carola Logan, Stephen Goodwin and Dennis Hindmarsh are taking part in the Sheffield Raft Regatta down the River Don between Rutland Road and Nursery Street in a special four-person raft on September 19th.

The raft has been developed to look like one of our distribution HGVs, complete with Roundabout and Sheffield United branding. Whether it’s water-tight is a different matter entirely – we’ll soon find out! The DBL crew will be pelted with eggs and flour to make the event that little bit more interesting, too.

All proceeds generated by the event will be provided to Roundabout – our chosen charity. Roundabout offers support to homeless people aged from 16-25 in Sheffield and offers life skills, too.

The Raft Regatta welcomes friends, family and spectators to cheer on the participants – and the day is more about having fun than winning.

However there are prizes involved – one for the team that crosses the line in third while singing a song, for example, as well as for the best-decorated raft, another for the driest and one for the most flour-covered crew.

We would be delighted if you are able to support us in this fun event, raising funds for a fantastic cause in Sheffield.
