Flora London Marathon 2005 · 17 April 2005 ·

We are a voluntary group of students and professionals committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children in India through education. "Asha", meaning "hope" in Hindi, is precisely what we wish to bring into the lives of these children.

Story

Dear friends

I will be doing my fourth London Marathon (in 3 weeks). I am running for Asha an Indian charity (UK registered) and raising funds specifically for the projects listed below:

(1) Jeevika - Karnataka. works with children in bonded labour.
(2) Puvidham - Tamil Nadu. Focusing on education of rural kids
(3) All Bengal Women's Union: Calcutta. Works with destitute and orphaned girls in local slums. Has set up an orphanage and a school. Asha support 30 specific girls within the school

This will probably be my last marathon so I decided to be rather ambitious in my fund raising target. So any contribution would be gratefully accepted (more the better). You can make your contributions on-line through this site. Many thanks Derrick
