Doncaster 10K · 26 November 2021

We own and manage a Nursery, School for the Deaf, Childrens Home for the Deaf, Communication Specialist College, and a Specialist Employment Service. As a registered charity, we rely on the kindness of others to support projects which enhance the experience for our children, young people and adults.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a team of students , staff, trustees and family members both walking and running a 10km event on 2 separate days.

Friday 26th November 2021 will see around 12-15 students and up to 15 staff staff walk 10Km, which is a major undertaking. Everyone taking part will be linked to the official Doncaster 10K and will receive a medal! For many of our students we cannot underplay just how big a challenge this will be. And to see so many staff turn out to support them in this endeavour demonstrates one of our organisation values, that being 'to go the extra mile' (or Km in this case!!)

Then, on Sunday 28th November, around 20 additional staff will run the official Doncaster 10K with many of our students supporting via volunteering and cheering us on. This is a major collaborative effort.

All the funds will go to support a new fundraising campaign to create a wonderful cafe and shop facility. In support of their vocational pathway development, our students will benefit from serving the general public with great coffee and home baked (by our students) delicious goodies, with our staff team supporting and encouraging.

Our students are well known for creating year round items such as Christmas wooden décor through our joinery department, quality Spring plants and hanging baskets via horticulture, and much more. All their creative skills and crafting will be on sale under one roof where the public can browse whilst enjoying great coffee and cake! This will be our students learning environment, and like no other!

We need to raise £'000's to make this happen and it starts now! Please be generous and support our students and staff.

Thank you!!
