Weston Hospicecare provides expert end-of-life care, free of charge, to people with life-limiting illnesses. Our goal is people can live as well as they can, for as long as they can; we help them feel like family and friends again, not just patients and carers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Only a year ago i was smoking, drinking & eating all the wrong things & living a very unhealthy lifestyle. In November 2014 i changed my lifestyle completely giving up smoking, drinking & eating unhealthily.

I had been thinking bout what could help my lifestyle after suffering bouts of depression & after reading Ronnie o sullivans book Running, a seed was set in.

One morning looking at my trainers at the bottom of my bed, i just got up & went for it. It was not planned just straight out the door & I got 5 mins down the road & had to stop, but walked & jogged for a total of 20 minutes. i was chuffed it was amazing to have run again for the first time in 20 years after abusing my body for pretty much most of that. It felt like such an achievement & the feeling was great.

I can only be honest & say that running has helped my mental & physical health immensely. Now i run for an hour or more non stop.

At this point i thought, lets put this running to use & put something back. So i thought lets run for charity & decided that Weston hospice who cared, loved & looked after my late mother who died of cancer was the best cause.

I thought  London Marathon would be fitting & thought lets apply what have i got to lose.

I applied & waited for weeks hoping so much that id get in & then the magic words came !!! Your in !!!!

I was so elated & was straight on my phone for ages to friends & family.

Im so pleased & honoured now to be able to give this great opportunity my best shot & wanna do my mum proud & raise money for Weston Hospice who are so close to my heart because of what they did for my mother.

So if u could please be generous to donate as little or as much as possible, it will make such a great difference i can assure you. I'm gonna be trying my hardest for my mum & fundraising for these guys. They are truly amazing. They went the extra mile & im hoping to do the same.

Thanks guys & girls for your time, Big Love to you all, one lucky & very grateful guy.
