London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024 · 7 April 2024 ·
I am raising money for Blood Cancer UK and intend to complete my first ever half marathon. I have enjoyed running especially this last year and have run close to 350km this year alone. I am very close to my sister Sarah, who was diagnosed in 2021 with non-Hodgkin follicular lymphoma, which is a type of blood cancer. Sarah has been doing remarkably well and her positive outlook on the whole process has been amazing. She has undergone some incredible treatment which she has had a complete response to and she continues to have maintenance.
Around 14,200 people are diagnosed with NHL each year in the UK. This makes it the 6th most common type of cancer in adults. 4 out of every 100 cancers diagnosed (4%) are NHL.
I know that times have been tough and that money can be tight but if you can spare anything to help me reach my target and spur me onto the finish line that would be lovely. I haven’t done a lot of fundraising in my adult life so now seems as good as time as any to make up for it and run my socks off for my sister Sarah and the many people who are touched by cancer.
We're a community dedicated to beating blood cancer. We do this by funding research and supporting those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. Right now, our community is funding 360 researchers and staff across the UK who are searching for the next breakthrough. The day we will beat blood cancer is now in sight and the researchers are determined to finish the job.
