I am running the great Eastern run on 14/10/2012. The reason why i have chosen this charity is for my nephew Ryan Hillson, at the age of 2 he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. We take for granted being able to eat what we want, when we want or even passing a child a sweet without having them test their blood and inject themself after it. This is what Ryan has to deal with on a daily basis.

At the moment there is no known cure for any type of diabetes. Diabetes UK rely on donations to do what they do. Last year alone they spent over 40 million pound on trying to find a cure as well as prevention. 

The time and care that Diabetes UK have given Ryan is priceless to us, and would hate to think where Ryan and his familiy would be without them.
