Event: Calgary Humane Society: Dog Jog, a walk or jog to end animal cruelty, on 3 June 2023
Calgary Humane Society's annual Dog Jog, a walk or jog to help end animal cruelty, helps raise crucial funding to support life-saving programs focused on education, protection, rehabilitation and ultimately, a new beginning for animals in need.

Story

Jay was a victim of physical abuse co-occurring with domestic violence, and was rescued by CHS Peace Officers in collaboration with Calgary Police. The poor guy suffered a traumatic blunt force injury, subsequent neglect of his injuries and a chronic skin condition.
Jay is a gentle soul and the perfect ambassador for bully breeds. He quickly became a staff favourite and was placed in a loving foster home. Faced with a large bill and a looming conviction, the offender relinquished ownership, which meant Jay was available to be adopted. Without delay, Jay's foster parent adopted him and has spoiled him with endless adventures ever since.
