Dundee Kiltwalk 2024 · 11 August 2024 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Our colleague in Ninewells daughter Scarlett was diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma, a type of bone cancer in early 2022. She went through many rounds of chemotherapy over many months and the tumour was sucessfully removed, she was later fitted with a bionic elbow.

After a period of recovery, she was sadly diagnosed with a second primary cancer leukemia.

She has recently received a bone marrow transplant and is now recovering.

We wanted to do the Kilt Walk to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust as this was Scarlett’s chosen charity.

The Teenage Cancer Trust offers unique care and support, designed for and with young people. We fund specialised nurses, youth workers and hospital units in the NHS, so young people have dedicated staff and facilities to support them throughout treatment.
