Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Both of us have unfortunately had a parent who suffered from dementia and sadly neither of them are still with us. Being diagnosed with dementia is a really frightening experience particularly as it is very difficult to comprehend what is going to happen and how your life will change.

We both feel that we would like to support those who are involved in research, which will assist people suffering from this dreadful disease to cope with the stress and the terrifying experience of every day realising that you are in less control than a few days ago.

We are really hoping that a cure will be found but in the meantime we are aware of the support needed by both people diagnosed with dementia and also their families. This is why we are looking to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society and support their work in research and campaigning for better care.

We have undertaken to trek 26 miles in August around the very hilly Hadrian's Wall and we would be hugely grateful for any sponsorship you might be able to provide for this very worthwhile cause.

Thank you for your support, it is really appreciated.
