Myself and Rod are cycling 125 miles to Mont Saint-Michel towards to end of April to raise money for Emmaus. Emmaus is a charity which offers meaningful work and a sense of belonging to people who have experienced homelessness and social exclusion. The charity is currently supporting more than 750 formerly homeless people.
We chose this charity after visiting large cities throughout the UK, especially in cold winter months and found it heartbreaking to see how some people have to live. We want to try and help in some way that would give real prospects for a long-term change in homeless people's lives.
We are starting our journey from Portsmouth, where we will take a ferry across to France, then cycle to Mont Saint-Michel. The cycle will be a challenge, but we are ready to take it on!
We are hoping to raise at least £1,500 for Emmaus and would appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small.
