Zen karate 100 kata challenge · 20 June 2015

We use the iconic martial arts to remove barriers in society, create social change and improve the lives of disabled and disadvantaged people. We enable people to make choices by building the self-confidence needed to take on life challenges such as pursuing education or employment

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Disability Karate Federation (DKF) is creating a national programme of karate clubs which will train students with disabilities though adaptive training techniques; promoting disability inclusion and improving the self-confidence of disabled people through karate training.

Following the Olympic Games, 8 out of 10 disabled people were considering playing more sport.  Despite this, less than 20% of disabled people are actually taking part in sport.

On Saturday 20th June 2015, I will be taking part in the 100 Kata Challenge to raise money for this great charity.  I will be performing 100 kata in 4 hours at Leigh Park Community Centre in Westbury.
