Story
Hi
I'm Sophie and I'm 11 years old. I have cerebral palsy which affects my whole body, but more notably my legs. I use my wheelchair to get around independently, although sometimes I need help with this.
I love attending my school, the PACE centre, and they have taught me invaluable skills to allow me to independently access my home, school and the wider community, as well as giving me more choice in my life and freedom.
I am working on my weight bearing and confidence in standing and when walking with an aid. I am very excited to do my challenge live at the stadium this time, as I missed the last Children's Challenge due to it being the same time as my hip surgery. Instead I did my challenge in my classroom with my mummy and other classmates watching me, before I had the surgery. It will mean so much to me to do my challenge live this time, surrounded by all my friends from PACE, and to see the difference my hip surgery has made to my walking - it has been worth all the effort!
My challenge is to walk 5 metres in my walker and pass a baton to my partner to complete a relay race in under 5 minutes.
Please give generously, as every penny matters!
Thanks for reading my story
