Search and rescue dogs are trained to support Mountain Rescue Teams in their search for missing people and aiding Police in searching for vulnerable missing people. The handlers are all volunteers and charitable donations support training and equipping the dogs and their handlers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We (that is, Helen (14) and her Mum, Debbie) are walking the West Highland Way at Easter to raise funds for SARDA in memory of our friend and mountain guide, Graham Paterson. Graham died in December 2012 following a fall while walking in the Cuillin on Skye. He was found after 2 days by the Mountain Rescue and SARDA teams. Graham was a fantastic guide & an inspiration to many. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

The West Highland Way  runs for 152km from the outskirts of Glasgow to Fort William with a total ascent of about 4000m. We are starting our walk on Friday 5th April & plan to complete it in about one week. We are looking forward to days of spring sunshine, meeting new friends & some spectacular scenery!  Wish us good luck!
