Story

Hi All!!

I am going to do the Great North Run on Sunday 8th September 2019. This one is a huge challenge for me and It really means more to me than any of the others (although they were very scary) I want to complete this run as It is the only chance I can do it as I have been told that my knee needs replaced. So I really want to do my very best and aim for a good time while I still have my own knee. Obviously I will be wearing a brace to keep my knee in place.

I am doing the Great North Run to raise as much money as I possibly can for North East blood cancer patients such as children, teenagers and adults who are going through high intensity treatment and need specialist care. The money raised helps professors to carry out research in our local hospitals in the North East such as the Freeman and RVI.

As always I will running this for my husband Gavin who suffered from leukaemia (AML). He always gives me the strength and courage to do these challenges and no matter what I feel he is always with me and will be guiding me. I know how much gruelling treatment he went through and the care he needed. I seen with my own eyes how the treatments effected patients such as teenagers and their families. To watch your loved ones go through this is heart breaking and this disease destroys families.

Please help and support me as you always have done in raising as much money as possible by donating on my just giving page.
