Story
Well tonight the two Mrs Alexanders completed their walk in about an hour and a half and have the medals to prove it. We are so pleased with the money raised so far, but it's not too late to sponsor us and we'ed love to raise more........
Why are we walking?
It costs around £274 for one day’s worth of medication to relieve distressing symptoms including pain. These essential drugs alleviate much suffering and provide people with a significant improvement in their quality of life.
Our walk will raise important funds to support the annual costs of providing medication for patients whether in the Hospice or at home– essential medication that will relieve distressing symptoms, including pain.
Starting and finishing in the grounds of the Hospice, the walk will be approx 5 miles and the route based in the neighbourhood around the Hospice. The Walk will start at 11.00pm on Saturday 20th September.
The hospice services not only include an inpatient unit, plus outpatient clinic, but also day care and a Community Palliative Care Team. Patients can also visit for a few days of respite care or to have their medication adjusted to help symptoms and then return home. Each year the medical and nursing teams provide care for more than 900 patients.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Raphael's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us!
