Story
As a family we recognise that we are blessed to have food on the table and a roof over our heads.... Rather than just keep acknowledging that we wanted to do something about it. Arron and I both work full time for the NHS, and are like ships that pass in the night, so taking on extra challenges is not as easy as it may look at the moment.... Please support us to raise money for a charity which supports food banks.... Our challenges are..
Deb and Thomas (11) will run the equivalent of London to Brighton (93k) during lockdown (at the start of this last week, Deb was managing 3k in one go!)
Maisie is completing 200k on an exercise bike lockdown (she started while isolating two weeks ago).
Arron is throwing himself into his new role as a newly qualified nurse, but is supporting us all by joining in some of our runs.
Why?....(adapted from the Trussell Trust) Because in todays society no-one should be worrying about where their next meal will come from. Last year, food banks in the Trussell Trust network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that anyone should go without food. As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us.
