Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Honey is going to walk the distance from home, Lowick, to Leeds which is approximately 155 miles.  She will walk about 5 miles a day, every day in August,  to raise money for the Sick Children's Trust.  We have measured a mile on Honeys fitbit and it comes out as 2521 steps.  She needs to do 12605 steps a day!  (We will aim for this, but, some days she may do less and some days maybe more, however, we will keep going till she makes the full 155 miles.)

The Sick Children's Trust offered us a place to stay when Honey was ill in 2019.  When Honey was transferred to Leeds Children's Hospital we had no idea she would be in hospital for so many weeks.  With only one parent being able to stay on the ward it was looking like dad would have to find hotel accommodation to stay in, which of course would cost us a small fortune. 

We were then told about Eckersly House, a home from home, which was situated just over the road from the hospital.  They were able to offer dad a room for as long as he needed.  They also offered Honey and myself the transplant flat which we could use when Honey was feeling a bit better before we got to go home.

We are so grateful to Eckersly House for offering us a place to stay, it was one less thing to worry about and it was so handy being so close when Honey was in PICU we were only minutes away from her. 

So Honey wants to give something back now she is better and will count her steps every day in August to the equivalent of 5 miles per day.  We will record her progress on this page and also on facebook.
