Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Most of us sometime in our life have experienced the loss of a family member or close friend to cancer, or know someone who is suffering at the moment. My Uncle passed away in Oct 2011 just weeks after being diagnosed. He received care from a number of sources including Marie Curie.

On April 6th,in his memory my daughter Elle Hawley (14 yrs) will be walking the West Highland Way up to the Nevis Mountain Range in Fort William. 95 miles in total or approx 15 miles a day along with 30 other family and friends. The walk will be tough and no doubt the weather will play a part in making it difficult!

My Uncle Fred was familiar with the West Highland Way having been a logistics manager for a previous trek in 2006. He would be both proud and humbled that so many family and friends were taking on this challenge in his memory, and for such a worthy charity.

Elle, a pupil and Sports Leader at Tuxford School had an article published in the Newark Advertiser on Thursday 29th March all about the walk.
