Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The page is also for the team joining me in Nairobi.

Wings of Mercy began in 2004 by myself and my colleague Roger Molera out in Kenya. Our aim is to reach and help the people of the Nairobi slums mainly through healthcare and education; we are also helping women learn business skills and start small businesses through microfinance, enabling them to move out of poverty without becoming dependent on outside support. This year a team of 17 medical, nursing and non medical volunteers will be going out to Kibera and Mathare slums in October to provide a free medical outreach for a week. Most slum inhabitants cannot afford food and water let alone healthcare, so health usually comes last. People live and die with illnesses that can easily be treated but sadly they cannot afford the costs so the outreach really does make a difference. Every penny raised goes towards buying medicines, paying for treatments and tests and providing ongoing treatments after we have gone. Thank you for your support.
