Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Welcome!
In a moment of weakness, I signed up to do The Great North Run for Christian Aid. I must have been feeling a bit fit and a bit smug from having spent many hours over the last year doing military fitness in Coventry Memorial Park. I am not a natural runner. Height is not on my side. I will not be doing this at any great speed. But I can persevere. I have never run more than five miles in my life so I have some work to do but I have also never had to move more than a few metres to find safe water so it's really not that big a thing. I won't be wearing a banana costume or diving boots but I will be wearing an orange vest with iron-on letters spelling out my name. Or should I rearrange them?
I'm raising money for Christian Aid because they have a vision – an end to poverty. They used to have a slogan about believing in life before death. Either is fine. If you have ever watched the news and felt helpless about South Sudan or Yemen or Malawi or Syria then this is a way to do something positive to support people with needs that we can't even begin to imagine.
Now the official bit. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I will be massively grateful for any donation you make and I promise to post the occasional photograph of my preparations for your amusement/judgment/scrutiny/encouragement [delete as appropriate].
Thank you!!
