Addiction Family Support was established by Elizabeth Burton-Phillips who lost one of her twin sons, Nick, to heroin. Open to anyone who is affected or bereaved by a loved one's harmful use of alcohol, drugs or gambling. Our helpline 0300 888 3853 gives more information about our services.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am climbing Kilimanjaro because it’s always been on my bucket list, and I value how precious life is. I realise that not everyone is as fortunate as me, and that some people’s lives take another turn that they never intended and sadly fall into addiction.

As a lady in her ‘Golden Years’, to raise money for the charity I dragged her up Mount Snowdon. She fell over 3 times, held my hand like she was giving birth, announced 150 metres from the top that she couldn’t walk another step and I virtually dragged her to the summit, but she made it, gaining the nickname mountain goat!

Please give generously to help this wonderful charity.

In 2018 Drugfam supported over 11,000 callers from all corners of the UK who needed emotional support and help including many bereaved families.

Elizabeth would like to thank Debbie for her unswerving loyalty to DrugFAM.  She will never forget her time climbing Mount Snowdon with the words of encouragement was given. She loves being called Debbie’s Mountain Goat!
