Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Deborah (who also happens to be the CEO of Bowel Cancer UK) and Helen met last year trekking on the Great Wall of China and Judith and Deborah have been friends since their youngest children were born an age ago.  We decided to join together to take on a more challenging trek than China in the beautiful mountainous Chapada Diamantina area of Brazil.

Why?  Well its simple really, bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer, claiming over 16,000 lives a year - more than either breast or prostate cancer yet is less well known and gains less support. and we want to help Bowel Cancer UK change that.

Bowel Cancer UK is determined to stop bowel cancer for good in all age groups through an ambitious programme of research and campaigns. All costs associated with the trek have been covered by us so all funds raised will go directly to the charity.  They will be used towards funding research linked to the charity's Never Too Young campaign, which aims to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care of younger bowel cancer patients.  For more information about the campaign, please visit

Thank you again for visiting our page and for any funds you donate - it will make a huge difference to Bowel Cancer UK and help us get one step closer to stopping bowel cancer for good.

Best wishes

Deborah, Helen and Judith
