Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I decided (on 1st August this year) to run the Dublin Marathon in memory of my Dad, and to raise some money for the Lane Fox Respiratory Unit of Guy's and St Thomas' hospital. My Dad spent a good deal of time in the unit throughout his life, and also raised many £000’s for them.

It is my first marathon, and yes, I know, 3 months is no time at all to train, especially as running is not normally in my weekly/monthly schedule. I’ve been advised by the experts not to do it, but it’s too late now, as lots of family members have booked flights and hotels to come over and cheer me on!

I’d really appreciate anything you can give to help this worthy cause. More details of the unit can be found at: http://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/services/acutemedicine/respiratory/lanefox/lanefox.aspx

Thanks in advance, Declan

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. About the charity
