Story
The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. Our goal is a life less miserable for you, your friends, your family and for all men.CALM PROVIDES> A free and anonymous helpline 0800 58 58 58 and webchat (5pm-12am daily) staffed by trained professionals> Bereavement support > A website www.theCALMzone.net with inspiring content> Campaigns tackling stereotypes of masculinity, suicide and mental health. Help us save lives.
The last year has been like no other. So many of us have experienced struggles with our mental health. Yoga is a wonderful tool to help calm the nervous system, relieve stress and tension in the body and mind, and helps with mental clarity and attention. As you may or may not know I lost my ex boyfirend Olly to suicide so this is a subject very close to my heart. I want to share this practice that I love in the hope that I can provide a toolkit for others to help manage their mental health.
On Sunday March 21st I am hosting a 2 hour online Yoga Masterclass where all donations will go to support this wonderful charity CALM. The event will include techniques for grounding, breath awareness, movement medicine, body awareness, meditation and will finish with a sharing circle with the theme 'how do you find your calm?'
The whole session will be guided by myself (eeeeek terrifying much!) so any and all support will be unbeliveably appreciated. A donation, a message of support, any tips on hosting virtual events, and well actually joining the event would make my heart sing!
If you would like more information on CALM please check out their website www.theCALMzone.net. If you are struggling their free and anonymous helpline number is 0800 58 58 58.
Thank you so much for your support and I hope to see you there.
Lots of love
