Story
In March 2021 I was given a cancer diagnosis which has resulted in me making a few changes to my life style . However I am still doing most of the things I love even if I had to change the way I do them . For example I am dedicating the entire month of July to completing a marathon to help support the Irish Cancer Society and the 44,000 Irish people who each year hear the words "you have cancer", I have set up a virtual collection page to raise vital funds. Now more than ever, cancer patients need our support.
Marathon completion will be an extremely slow process . I am currently recovering from a stroke and am only walking about 10 minutes twice a day. I have a feeling I may have to start the marathon journey earlier than July if I want to successfully complete the target distance at my slow rate. I intend to embrace this challenge and complete the distance ( eventually), with a smile on my face and hopefully not too many rainy days. I will enjoy the experience regardless, but would love to think I have your support and donations will be gratefully accepted .
Funds raised are used across the country and your kind donation will ensure the Irish Cancer Society can continue to provide free services, such as the Freephone Support Line, Night Nursing Service, counselling, transport for patients to treatment and so much more.
Together we can ensure that no one has to go through cancer alone.
