Special Olympics is a sport organisation for people with an intellectual disability, currently supporting nearly 8,000 athletes across Ireland, who are training for much more than the physical benefits that come from sport, but the emotional and social development that come from being part of S.O.I.

Story

My life was shattered when Aidan was killed nearly 2 years ago. Running has kept me sane. So, I’m running the Belfast City Marathon to support Special Olympics Ulster. Aidan was a dedicated volunteer. He absolutely loved his time with them, and was so proud of all that the athletes achieved. He had so much fun with them, and Special Olympics is a perfect reflection of all that Aidan stood for - family, sport, inclusion, teamwork, fairness and fun. I want to honour Aidan by supporting this fantastic charity that provides so many opportunities for special people. Thanks for helping me do this.
