Dementia Awareness Afternoon · 16 November 2014

We help thousands of local older people, their families and carers, every year by providing support services, information, activities and events to help reduce loneliness, isolation and poverty.

Story

We at Personal Training For Health are hosting an afternoon of Dance Fit and Insanity Classes in an attempt to raise as much awareness and money as possible for the Redwood Centre Saturday Respite in Haywards Heath.

The Redwood Centre Saturday Respite is a service aimed at those living with dementia. If you're a friend or relative caring for someone with dementia they're there to help.

At Personal Training For Health, our very own Dance Fit instructor, Neil Johnson, is a full time carer for his mum, Barbara, who sadly, suffers with dementia.

Neil and Barbara regularly go to the Redwood Centre to meet new people and take part in fun activities all facilitated by the friendly and trained staff.

When Neil told me the Centre nearly closed down last year due to a lack of funding, I felt it a perfect opportunity to launch this event and raise as much money and awareness as possible.

The event will take place on Sunday November 16th at 2:15 - 4:30pm and will consist of a 45 minute Dance Fit Class and a 45 minute Insanity™ Class. We will also be hearing from a spokesperson for the charity about where the money raised will be going. The event will be held at Clair Hall Park, Haywards Heath.

The cost of attending the event is a single donation of £10.00 (to purchase a ticket please read the details below)
