We’re taking part in the 5k Bubble Rush to help do more for sick kids at Birmingham Childrens Hospital.

The reason this is so important to us, as most of you know, shortly after Aurora was born she went into heart failure. We later discovered she had a complete AVSD heart defect which meant she would need open heart surgery to repair her poorly heart. BCH monitored Aurora often until they decided she would need her surgery sooner rather than later before irreparable damage was done. At just 9 weeks old she was admitted and booked in for her surgery. On 20th June 2019 she finally had her surgery and for that that day will always be such a special one. It was the day Aurora was given a new life, one which her heart and body wouldn’t feel like it was constantly running a marathon. Since her surgery Aurora has gone from strength to strength and amazes us everyday. She now has yearly follow up appointments as a heart outpatient at BCH. I will forever be grateful to the amazing heart team for all that they have done and do for our little heart warriors ❤️
