On September 19th I am taking part in the Great North Run.

I am raising money for DebRA, This is the national charity working on behalf of people affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) - a rare genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and shear at the slightest friction, or even spontaneously.

I’ve come to know of DebRA through a family friend and his son who both suffer from the condition. How he copes with EB and does not allow it to prevent him carrying on life to the full like any other teenager is incredible. Take 5 minutes to visit  www.debra.org.uk , and read the case studies and you too will be inspired by these courageous people.

13 miles is not a distance I have run before.  I am aiming to complete in 2 hours (or so!!). My two hours of suffering is nothing compared to life with EB, so please make it worthwhile.
